Jack Kerouac was born in 1922. He was a writer, poet and artist.
Kerouac was a university graduate and went on to become the spokesperson and leader of what was to become known as the Beat Generation following the publication of his book, On The Road. This talented group of writers included Allen Ginsberg and William S. Burroughs.
Like Pietro Psaier, Kerouac received little critical acclaim in life and yet his influence was such that musicians like Bob Dylan and Jim Morrison were to follow his style.

Kerouac spent much of his youth roaming America searching for his place in the world and rejeted the normal values of the fifties. It was during this time that he wrote, On The Road.
Allen Ginsberg went on to write Howl, an epic poem of what he saw as the destruction of his friends of the Beat Generation.
For like Pietro Psaier, Jack Kerouac's life ended tragically. After falling victim to the disease of alcoholism he died at the age of 47.
Angels Still Falling was a West End play in 1991.
